Amazon loses second AWS India and South Asia top exec in less than a year After Puneet Chandok unexpectedly left the company to take a high-level post at Microsoft India.
Only seven months into her top position, Vaishali Kasture, the executive Amazon appointed as the acting head of AWS India and South Asia, has left the company, according to our source.
An email and phone request for a response from Amazon was not immediately answered. By 2030, the e-commerce behemoth intends to invest $12.7 billion in its cloud computing business in India.

Beginning in June of this year, Kasture—who began working for Amazon approximately five years ago—led AWS India and South Asia’s commercial business in an acting capacity. It was unable to ascertain the cause of her leaving.
After Puneet Chandok unexpectedly left the company to take a high-level post at Microsoft India, she was promoted to the position. Kasture had been upbeat and confident about the growth potential and momentum of Amazon Web Services in India till two weeks ago.

“Our total planned investments in India will be more than $16.4 billion or 1.36 lakh crores by 2030, and we expect this to contribute $23 billion to India’s GDP by then,” she wrote in a LinkedIn post.
“In addition to investments in infrastructure and services, we are also investing in people and skilling and AWS has trained over 4 million people in India through various education and training programs.”
