In Zamfara, two bandit kingpins are killed by NAF fighter jets.
According to the Nigerian Air Force on Sunday, airstrikes carried out in Zamfara State have killed a large number of bandits, including important supporters of the infamous bandit leaders Dogo Sule and Dan-Isuhu.
The service claims that at the time of the airstrikes, the bandits were finalizing plans for coordinated operations against civilians or military personnel along the Tsafe axis.
According to the NAF’s spokesman, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, reports from the ground following the strikes verified that many high-ranking bandit group members had been successfully eliminated.
In order to eradicate bandit threats in Northwestern Nigeria, the Nigerian Air Force is continuing its vigorous air interdiction mission, known as Operation Farautar Mujiya, he stated.
In order to do this, on November 15, 2024, the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma carried out more air interdiction missions in Zamfara State. Many bandits, including important supporters of notorious bandit leaders Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule, have been neutralized as a result of these operations.
A sizable gathering of bandits in Babban Kauye village, which is located in Zamfara State’s Tsafe Local Government, was the target of the airstrikes. The group of criminals was honing its plans for synchronized operations against civilians or military personnel along the Tsafe axis, according to intelligence sources.
“The NAF carried out a string of destructive airstrikes after receiving reliable intelligence, severely harming the criminal groups. Numerous high-ranking bandit organization members were successfully eliminated, according to reports from the ground, severely impairing their ability to operate.
According to Akinboyewa, Tsafe Local Government has long been a hotbed of banditry, with groups loyal to Dogo Sule and Dan-Isuhu known for planning brutal attacks on crucial infrastructure, security forces, and local people.
He went on to say, “These groups have used isolated communities like Babban Kauye as strategic safe havens, from which they plan and carry out their evil activities.”
In line with larger initiatives to dismantle and totally degrade bandit networks in the area, thwart planned attacks, and bring peace and stability back to the beleaguered Northwest, the most recent airstrikes show a strong response and support for the NAF’s Theatre Command of Operation FANSAN YAMMA.
“As we strive to eradicate the threats posed by terrorists, bandits, and all other criminal elements working against the peace and prosperity of our beloved country, the NAF remains resolute in its mission, in collaboration with sister Services and other security agencies to secure the region and indeed the nation as a whole.”
