Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has reached the final stage in the race to lead the World Trade Organisation.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala reacted to her emergence as one of the two last candidates for the position of a Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, WTO in a tweet on Thursday, thanking President Muhammadu Buhari and Nigerians for supporting her candidacy for the WTO job.
She wrote: “Happy to be in the final round of the @wto DG campaign. Thanks, WTO members for your continued support of my candidacy. I could not have made it without the prayers and support of all Nigerians and friends around the world. Thank you @MBuhari and all my friends. Aluta continua!”
The former finance minister alongside Yoo Myung-hee of South Korea are the final candidates remaining in the race.
