Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party has sent a congratulatory message to the APC presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his emergence and conquest at the APC presidential primaries.
No doubt Mr Atiku is expecting a huge challenge as he tries to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari and fulfil his lifetime dream of becoming President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. There will surely be a major challenge posed by the former Lagos state Governor. However, before the games begin he has decided to take out time and put out a congratulatory message to the elder statesman.
Atiku made his congratulatory statement through his Twitter handle on Wednesday, he commended Tinubu for fighting hard in the contest and emerging winner, adding that it was his tenacity that made him prevail in the end with a victory.
He said “congratulations on your emergence as your party’s presidential candidate. It has been a hard-fought contest, but you prevailed confirms your tenacity- AA.”
Earlier when the PDP presidential candidate had won the primaries and emerged victorious as the PDP flag bearer, Mr. Tinubu had sent him a congratulatory message in which he hailed his patriotism and commitment to Nigeria’s progress.
He also said that he looked forward to squaring up with Atiku as a worthy opponent in the coming election.
In his statement he said “I look forward to squaring up with him as a worthy opponent in the coming election. I have known the former vice president as a formidable politician and a patriot who believes in the unity and progress of our dear county.”
There is no doubt that the coming presidential election is going to be a tough one, but come February 25, 2023, the polls will be set and in the end only one man among the many will emerge victorious in the contest.
