The Vice President, Prof Yemi Osibanjo has been admitted into an undisclosed hospital for a surgery in his leg.
Osibanjo made the announcement on Saturday evening on his verified Twitter handle.
The announcement was also confirmed by the Vice president’s spokesman, Laolu Akande.
According to the Vice President, the surgery is necessitated by a recurrent pain in his leg which he “possibly” sustained from an injury while playing squash.
“I have been admitted today at the hospital for a surgical procedure on account of a recurrent pain in the leg possibly sustained from an injury while playing squash,” the tweet read.
Confirming the development in a statement made available to newsmen, Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, “VP Osinbajo is in the hospital today for a surgical procedure on account of a recurrent pain in the leg possibly sustained from an injury while playing squash.
“His doctors would give an update of the treatment later today.”
