Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Borussia Dortmund.
The 21-year-old has spent his entire professional career at Stamford Bridge, making a total of 126 appearances in all competitions.
However, as well as speculation regarding his future earlier in the summer, the academy graduate was also absent from Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the meeting with Everton at the weekend.
After that fixture, it was soon claimed that Hudson-Odoi was open to departing the Blues in a bid to earn regular first-team football elsewhere.
Leicester City and Southampton are allegedly among the clubs who are actively monitoring the situation ahead of potential approaches.
However, according to Sky Sports News, Dortmund are contemplating whether to make a bid of their own over the coming weeks.
The Bundesliga outfit are no strangers to moving for young English talent and have been credited with an interest in Hudson-Odoi in the past.
Dortmund have brought in Anthony Modeste as an alternative to the sidelined Sebastian Haller, but Hudson-Odoi would seemingly be regarded as a welcome addition out wide.
The report claims that representatives of the player are already in discussions with officials at the German side.
At this stage, Dortmund are said to be interested in a loan agreement, rather than pursuing a big-money deal for Hudson-Odoi.
Chelsea may insist on Hudson-Odoi extending his contract by an extra year with his current terms due to expire at the end of 2023-24.
The Premier League outfit are already in line to lose at least one more forward-thinking player with Timo Werner on the verge of returning to RB Leipzig.
Hakim Ziyech could also be on his way out of Stamford Bridge with AC Milan known to be considering a bid for the playmaker.
