Kashim Shettima, the vice-presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Kashim Shettima, has been trending on social media platforms especially Twitter over his choice of outfit for the Nigerian Bar Association conference in Lagos.
Many Nigerians have refused to allow him have a soft landing as they have hurled and poured out series of criticism on the vice presidential candidate.
Some of those at the forefront of the criticism firing squad include Former presidential aide to former president Goodluck Johnathan, Reno Omokri, and a tweeter user named Nefertiti, among many others.
Speaking on Shettima’s dressing Reno Omokri asked in one of his tweets expressed doubt in ability to address Nigeria’s challenges given the fact that Shettima does not know how to dress well.
in his series of tweets Reno Omokri said, “This is Tinubu’s running mate at the NBA Conference today. Look at his feet. Who in his right mind wears a suit and tie, and then puts on a pair of gym shoes to a conference? If Shettima does not know how to dress himself, how can he address Nigeria’s challenges?
“The man heard NBA and thought it was National Basketball Association. That is why he wore basketball shoes on top of suit and tie. If you are a foreign investor, would you invest in a country where the Vice President is seen in public like this?Reno Omokri the.”
“Running mate wearing running shoes! No be juju be that? Is that the new agbado and cassava fashion? Gym shoes on top of suit and tie? Who did this to Nigeria? And the man boldly appeared in public like this to shout emilokan? The eleyi no try at all!Reno Omokri the.”
Reno Omokri also offered to send Mr Shettima a clean pair of suit and shoe which he posted on his via his official tweeter handle.
“Dear Nigerians,I want to donate this suit and shoes to Kashim Shettima so he can stop disgracing Nigeria with his coat and gym shoes. Does anyone know how I can get in contact with Shettima, for onward delivery of my donation? No cap. No cruise. This is for real” he said.
Another tweeter user named Nefertiti took it up from there and couldn’t pass the opportunity to throw some shades at Mr Shettima. She likened Mr Shettima’s dressing to the way the ruling party APC is currently ruling Nigeria.
She also described him as tacky and unsettled adding that Tinubu is somewhere laughing at Shettima over his dressing.
She said, “How Kashim Shettima is dressed, is exactly the way the APC has ruled Nigeria. He should have wore his native attire. And why does he look so tacky & unsettled?”
“Tinubu is somewhere laughing at Shettima. He dodged our bullet.Shettima will break his head for sampling him like this. Today is so wild.”
However, another Nigerian, comrade Deji decided to differ by telling Nigerian to watch out and look beyond his dressing as he could be a laughing stock today and the president of Nigeria tomorrow while many are busy laughing at his dressing.
He said, “This is how we will be mocking this guy and he will become president before our very eyes especially now that the spirit of error has possessed the divided opposition. This guy scares me more than anyone else on the ticket.”
