The 21 Armored Brigade soldiers have reportedly killed six Boko Haram militants in the Bama Local Government Area of Borno State during a raid on a black market the terrorists had set up.
On Wednesday at 11 a.m., the army carried out the operation alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), storming the illegal market known as Daula Market in Bararam village, Bama.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency specialist and security analyst in Lake Chad, when the forces busted the illegal market, commercial activities were ongoing at the time of the operation.
When the forces approached, the terrorists fired their weapons, but they were quickly engaged, according to Makama, who also said that six of them were killed.
He explained, “They arrested dozens of Boko Haram including logistics suppliers, collaborators and some weapons were recovered.”
He claimed that the suspects were now in the Brigade’s headquarters in Bama, where a comprehensive investigation is being conducted.
