We’ve seen the last of the International teams this break and for some the next we see them is the World Cup. For some there are concerns and others a lot of positives to take in their latest preparations.
The European Nations haven’t shown the best quality with their displays this year, but it’ll be foolish to write any of them off knowing how fickle nature of international football is.
Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal, Netherland, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, France, Argentina, England, Mexico, Germany, Senegal, Uruguay, Switzerland, USA, Canada, Tunisia, S. Korea, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Croatia, Iran, Morocco, Japan, Serbia, Poland and Cameroon are all in contention to get the most coveted international trophy.
Heading to the South Americans and we see arguably their two biggest teams flying at the moment. They’re unbeaten in 2022 and Argentina are on a run of 35 games unbeaten. The Brazilians are dancing and having fun with their in-form players (Neymar, Raphinha, Richarlison, Vinicius Jr etc) there is a strong argument that the trophy may be heading to a different continent, some say Lionel Messi may finally add to his collection, but all remains unclear at the moment.
We won’t rule out a dark horse nation that’ll want to make a fairy tale run; Denmark, Croatia, Senegal or probably the Netherland all have those potentials. This just highlights how fickle international competitions are, you never know what you’ll get.
England have a selection crisis to get over, France & Germany needs to get their team glued together. Belgium needs to up their game to contest & Portugal needs to understand how to get the usuage CR7 alongside their many special forwards to work.
No side is absolutely miles apart from the other as this year’s edition of the World Cup is shaping up to be a highly unpredictable one. They return back to their respective clubs and major twists and turns may just unfold as injuries and other decisions could absolutely change the plot of the competition.
