Trevor Noah has ended his tenure as host of The Daily Show after seven years. On social media, The Daily Show posted a clip of Noah’s comments.
The stand-up comedian, who is 38, suggested that he might devote more time to stand-up when he said, There’s another area of his life that he wants to explore.
In 2015, Noah, who was born in South Africa and immigrated to the US in 2011, had to step into the enormous shoes left by veteran host Jon Stewart.
He swiftly built up his own brand, which was appropriate for the time when online influence frequently outweighed that of cable television material.

“I spent two years in my apartment [during Covid], not on the road,” Noah told his studio audience late on Thursday. “Standup was done, and when I got back out there again, I realised that there’s another part of my life that I want to carry on exploring.”
“We have laughed together, we have cried together. But after seven years, I feel like it’s time,” he said.
As his studio audience rose to their feet in support of him, Noah thanked his fans and completed his speech.
