THE Edo State House of Assembly has directed Heads of State Government Ministries Departments and Agencies to brief the House through it’s various Standing Committees on their budget performance for the 2022 fiscal year.
Ahead of the 2023 budget presentation, the Speaker Edo State House of Assembly Rt.Hon Marcus Onobun said the directive is to appraise the budget performance for 2022.
The House during plenary also received a letter from Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki requesting the confirmation of Mrs Violet Obi-Okoro as the Managing Director, Edo State Skills Development Agency.
The Speaker thereafter, mandated its Committee on rules , Business and Government House to interface with Mrs Violet Obi-Okoro and report back to the House in one week .
Also at the plenary, the House adopted its business calendar of the second quarter, fourth session of the seventh assembly.
Majority Leader of the House, Rt.Hon. Henry Okhuarobo while presenting the proposal gave a breakdown of the adopted business calendar totalling fifty(51) sitting days .
Governor Godwin Obaseki also forwarded 24 copies each of two Bills on a Law to establish Edo State Development and Building Control Agency 2022 and a Bill for a Law to repeal the town and country planning law cap 165 law of Bendel State 1976 and to make provisions for the administration of the physical planning urban and regional development in Edo State and for purposes connected therewith.
The Speaker, Rt.Hon Marcus Onobun said the Bill is apt in view of incidences of flooding and other ecological disasters in parts of the State.
The House then adjourned sitting to Tuesday 18th, October 2022, to attend to some pending Bills slated for consideration.
