THE presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, on Wednesday, blasted the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi for visiting and touring the hospital owned by Labour Party vice presidential candidate, Baba-Ahmed in Abuja.
It will be recalled that on Wednesday morning, Peter Obi had taken to his official Twitter page to share photos of his visit to the Baze University Hospital, owned by his running mate.
Peter Obi had applauded Baba-Ahmed during the inspection, noting that the institution is standard and exemplary, befitting Baba-Ahmed.
In the tweet, Peter Obi wrote: “This morning, I had the privilege of visiting the Baze University Hospital in Abuja and inspecting the facilities. Dr Datti Baba-Ahmed was on hand to show me around.
This institution is exemplary and reflective of a centre of excellence, and what domestic entrepreneurs and investors can contribute to nation-building.
“With several more facilities like this, medical tourism for Nigerians will be a thing of the past. This is simply awesome. – PO.”
However, in reaction to the visit, AAC’s Sowore noted that he was surprised that Peter Obi did not visit the University Teaching Hospital which he built during his time as Anambra State governor, but rather visited that of Baba-Ahmed.
“I thought you & Datti would be inspecting the international standard “University Teaching Hospital” they claimed you built while you were governor of Anambra state and not a private hospital built by Datti, which obviously is not accessible/affordable to majority Of Nigerians,” Sowore said.
