Rishi Sunak has beaten his rival Penny Mordaunt to emerge as the new UK Prime Minister.
This is coming after former prime minister, Liz Truss resigned last week, making her the shortest-reigned British Prime Minister.
Penny Mordaunt failed to get the mandatory 100 nominations from her fellow MPs and this gave way to Rishi Sunak who won an a vast number of Tory MPs to emerge as the next resident of No.10 Downing Street.
Rishi Sunak will be the first UK’s Prime Minister with an Indian heritage.
