THE United States Attorney’s Office for Central District of California, Los Angeles, has announced that the notorious internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas, who is notoriously known as Hushpuppi will be sentenced on Monday, 7th November, 2022.
This is coming after reports about the internet fraudster being sentenced to 11 years in prison went viral.
According to verified reports, it was confirmed on Friday by the Director of Media Relations, Thom Mrozek that “the sentencing is now scheduled for Monday, November 7.”
Hushpuppi’s sentencing date has been postponed for at least five times this year, since he was convicted for an alleged fraud of $1.1m in Qatari.
It will be recalled that on Monday,14th February, 2022, Hushpuppi was scheduled to be sentenced, but, the sentencing was rescheduled to 11th July and then to 21st September and then to 3rd November, before the recent 7th November.
According to the court, Hushpuppi risks “20 years’ imprisonment; a 3-year period of supervised release; a fine of $500,000 or twice the gross gain or gross loss resulting from the offence.”
Hushpuppi, 39, who was arrested alongside 12 others in Dubai was arraigned before the US court for prosecution in June 2020.
