A pressure group based in Warri and operating under the auspices of the People for Peace and Development Forum (PPDF) has issued a call to two former governors of Delta State, Chief James Ibori and Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, urging them to save the state from imminent collapse at the hands of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023.
This appeal was made by the PPDF through Prince Shola Emiko Amoye and Mr. John Ekure in a statement that was released yesterday in Warri. According to the statement,“as the pioneer Governor and his immediate successor, the duo led the State to a very high level of infrastructural and economic growth to the admiration of all Deltans across the board without political discrimination.
According to the PPDF, Chief Ibori and Uduaghan have accomplished a number of things that have never been seen before in the annals of the state’s history. These things include interconnecting rural and urban bridges and networks of roads, building tertiary institutions, state-of-the-art healthcare facilities, sports facilities, mass transit systems both on land and the riverine axis, and so on.

However, the PPDF expressed their regret that these magnificent edifices and developmental growth are in the process of being eroded by the current political actors of PDP extraction. The PPDF made the observation that the party gladiators are leading the state to a bottomless abyss of socio-economic quagmire and doom of catastrophic dimension.
They stated that if the two individuals truly cared for the state of Delta and its people, then they should emerge from their shells in order to save the state from the chains of degradation, self-strangulation, and political suicide that will be staring the state in the face in 2023.
In light of this, they made an appeal to Ibori and Uduaghan to downplay the significance of their vast store of experience in political governance in order to rally support for the most eminently qualified, self-made politicians in the state who are free of any blemishes of any kind, regardless of which party they belong to, in order for them to win the next gubernatorial election in the state in 2023, which will take place regardless of which party they are affiliated with.
