MEXICAN boxer, Saul Cancelo Álvarez, has issued Argentina’s captain, Lionel Messi, a warning, for showing disrespect to Mexico’s jersey after Argentina’s win against Mexico on Saturday at the World Cup.
It will be recalled that Messi and Enzo Fernandez were on the score sheet for Argentina during their 2-0 win over Mexico in their Group C match of the World Cup in Qatar.
As captured in a video footage after the match, Argentina could be seen celebrating their first win of the tournament in their dressing room and Messi was captured kicking the Mexican jersey which he exchanged with a Mexican player after the match, although there was no indication that Messi actually kicked the jersey intentionally.
Meanwhile, according to CNN, Mexican boxer, Saul Álvarez, wrote on his Twitter page that the Argentina’s captain showed no respect for the Mexican jersey and flag.
In the tweet, Álvarez said: “Did you see Messi cleaning the floor with our shirt and flag????”
In another tweet, followed by some angry emojis, he added: “He better pray to God that I don’t find him!!”
“Just like I respect Argentina, he has to respect Mexico! I’m not talking about the country as a whole, just about the bulls**t that Messi pulled.”
