THE Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Zamfara State, Alhaji Ibrahim Magayaki, has been remanded by a Zamfara High Court sitting in Gusau on Monday for contempt of the court.
According to the order of the court, the presiding judge of the High Court, the state Commissioner for Agriculture is said to be remanded at the Gusua Correctional Centre.
Justice Shinkafi also added that the remanding of Alhaji Magayaki, is as a result of the Commissioner’s disobedience to adhere to the court’s order, which is enshrined in Section 6 of the Penal Code Law.
Alhaji Magayaki is said to have disrespected the order of the court in a suit between the Government of Zamfara State and Dumbulum Investment.
He was asked by the court to attach some properties owned by Zamfara government, including the tractors, but, Justice Shinkafi disclosed that Alhaji Magayaki failed to comply with the court order, because some parts of the tractor were already sold out.
The case has been adjourned by the court to Saturday, 16th December, 2022.
