Hilda Baci the young Nigerian chef who set out to smash the world’s longest cooking record has worked her way to victory despising every form of limitation posed by her body. On Monday she smashed the pre-existing record and went ahead to smash her initial intended record of 96 hours thereby setting a new record of 100 cooking hours by an individual.
Hilda Baci had cooked for 88 hours and 32 minutes by Monday morning, equaling the previous record set by an Indian chef, Lata Tondon.
Tondon accomplished the feat by cooking for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds in the year 2019. However, at 4 p.m., Hilda announced that she was fully prepared to complete 100 hours of marathon cooking.
She was nothing short of phenomenal as she was continuously backed by her team and the rest of Nigeria. Many celebrities and politicians in the country came out to cheer her on as she journeyed toward victory. One such person who was actively noted and seen cheering her on is Eni Oluwa, Kemen, Godswill Akpabio, Babajide Sanwolu, and many others who kept trooping in to give their support. Others who could not make it physically did well to register their presence online, people such as Nigeria’s president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Wizkid.
