According to Mark Zuckerberg, WhatsApp has added a new Chat Lock feature to make your conversations more private. The new feature allows Individual chats to be hidden in a folder that can only be accessed with your device’s password or biometric unlocking system, such as a fingerprint. The Chat Lock feature also hides the contents of your conversation from your pop-up notifications.
According to the social media platform, this feature will be useful for people who share their phones with family or friends. It will also keep prying eyes away from those “extra-special” chats you don’t want anyone reading, on purpose or by chance.
By tapping the name of the conversation and selecting the lock option, you can secure both individual and group chats on WhatsApp. Of course, you can always protect the entire app with a password or biometrics, a feature that has been available on the platform for quite some time. Chat Lock is intended to protect specific conversations rather than the entire app.

You can unlock a locked chat by slowly pulling it down on your inbox and entering your password or biometric.
Chat Lock will be expanded in the future, according to the Meta-owned platform. These include companion device locking and the ability to create custom passwords for chats, allowing you to use a password that is distinct from the one you use for other applications.
Starting now, you should see Chat Lock in your WhatsApp app. However, the feature may not be widely available for a few days.
