WhatsApp is apparently developing new text formatting tools for coders, programmers, and software developers. The new feature, which was discovered in the most recent WhatsApp for Desktop beta release, is claimed to comprise three new formatting options. The new features will make it easier for WhatsApp users to share and decipher codes. In the future, the utilities may also be offered to Android and iOS users. WhatsApp recently enabled HD photo sharing for all users on the stable channel.
WhatsApp development tracker WABetaInfo said that WhatsApp is working on three new text formatting features that will make reading and sharing technical codes on the network easier. According to the source, a “Code Block” function will be added to WhatsApp to make technical coding accessible. It could facilitate the sharing of code snippets on the app by software engineers, programmers, and others.
Meanwhile, this new toolset is expected to contain a “Quote” feature. Users will reportedly be able to refer back to certain messages or responses in a discussion using this formatting feature. According to the source, this under-development quote text formatting tool will allow users to quote a specific area of text and respond to it directly, which differs from the app’s present quote text feature.

The third function is reported to enable users to construct a list of objects within a WhatsApp chat. A screenshot of the new formatting tools is also included in the report.
However, WhatsApp has not stated when these functionalities would be made available to all beta testers. The tools are still in beta testing. As with any in-development additions, the messaging platform may push it out as part of a beta version before delivering it to the stable channel, or it may abandon the function entirely.

WhatsApp recently made HD photo sharing available to all users. Users will be able to share high-quality, high-resolution photographs in their WhatsApp chats on Android, iOS, WhatsApp Web, and desktop as a result of this. Images sent in HD will be marked with a little ‘HD’ icon. Meta has also announced that HD video support will be added soon.
