Ohanaeze to speak with Tinubu about Nnamdi Kanu – Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the foremost Igbo socio-cultural organization, has made public its intention to meet with President Bola Tinubu to advocate for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB.
This was said by the Ohanaeze President, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, on Saturday during a courtesy call to the Southeast Chapter of the Supreme Council of Nigerian Traditional Rulers, which was headed by HRM Eze Iheanyichukwu Nwokenna of Abia State.
According to him, the focus of the upcoming visit to the president would be on all the concerns of the residents of the South East geopolitical zone.
According to Iwuanyanwu, the need to press for the secessionist’s release from the Department of State Services’ (DSS) custody arose as a result of the deteriorating security situation in the area.
He claims that some people are utilizing Kanu’s reputation and his imprisonment to commit crimes in the area, claiming that their only motivation is self-interest.

“Your request and solidarity visit have reinvigorated my leadership intention to see President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on issues concerning the Igbo ethnic group, more especially the need to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. His continual detention is escalating insecurity in the southeast.
“After he’s released, let us now see any person or group that will be instigating insecurity or crisis in Igboland using his name or detention.
“Some people and groups are illegally feasting on his popularity and detention just to cause unnecessary trouble and problems in the entire southeast and for their selfish interests. There must be peace and stability in Igboland.
“Immediate release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will restore sanity,” he said. he declared.
