Ahead of the All Progressive Congress primaries, the seven-member screening committee began the screening of the presidential aspirants on Monday. Aspirants on the list that were earlier screened are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio.
It was gathered from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the continuation of the screening by the John Odigie-Oyegun-led APC 2023 seven-member presidential screening committee began on Monday and some aspirants have been screened already ahead of the party’s primaries.
The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan and a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole also made it to the list of aspirants that were screened by the party’s seven-member screening committee. Other aspirants (a total of eleven) are expected to appear before the committee for screening ahead of the APC Special Convention for its presidential primary slated for June 6 and 8.
Other aspirants that are yet to be screened are: Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River, Former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, Tein Jack Rich and former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ogbonnaya Onu, and former Minister of Information under late General Sani Abacha, Ikeobasi Mokelu.
A total of 23 presidential aspirants are expected to be screened ahead of the APC presidential primaries.
