The current strike by the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) which started on the 14th February, 2022, has caused a lot of delays in the academic timetable for students of federal universities who have been at home for four months now.
It is in light of this frustration that the students of the University of Uyo Chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone B South South joined other NANS Zones in a nationwide peaceful protest to express their grievances over the incessant ASUU strike which commenced on the 14th of February, 2022.
The students who toured the major roads in Uyo aired their frustrations over the long ASUU Strike. In the live video footage, the students called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to end the strike by coming to agreements with their lecturers.
Whilst negotiations are still ongoing between the academic staff union and the federal government, the students are eager to get back to school and continue their education. The striking academic staff union assures the public that once the agreements are met with the government, the strike will be duly called off.
