THE Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has disclosed that seven-month strike action by staff of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) will be over “in matter of days.”
The House of Reps speaker disclosed this during his briefing with the executives of ASUU on Monday about his meetings with President Buhari.
ASUU executives on the other hand commended the House of Reps through its speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila for intervening for ASUU during the strike period.
In confirmation of the progress, the national president of ASUU, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, said, “For the first time, we have seen light at the end of the tunnel.”
ASUU has been on strike since February 14 due to unpaid salaries and lack of funds for the revitalization of public universities.
