Some members of the All Progressive Congress on Sunday night answered to a meeting call that was convened by President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential Villa ahead of the party convention scheduled for Monday.
Those who were at the meeting include, the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu, the National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore and former National Chairpersons of the party, John Odigie Oyegun and Bisi Akande and some governors among others.
This meeting was being convened a day after President Muhammadu Buhari’s closed-door meeting with the party’s presidential aspirants where he urged the 23 presidential aspirants to consult among themselves and with the party to produce a presidential candidate, reduce the number of aspirants, and scale down the anxiety of party members.
The agenda for the meeting was not disclosed. However, it is believed to be in connection with the convention that has been scheduled to hold on Monday and the quest is believed to be the selection of a consensus candidate at the convention.
This is to back up his desires as stated earlier when he urged the 23 presidential aspirants to come to an understanding and choose a consensus candidate among themselves.
