… 650,000 barrels per day to be produced at the refinery
The founder of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has officially announced and presented the first sample of petrol produced by Dangote Refinery.
This presentation was made at the Dangote Refinery located at Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos on Tuesday, September 3, during a live broadcast.
According to the billionaire businessman, the refinery has the capacity of producing 650,000 barrels of petrol every day.
The refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, has been engaged in a test run of the product having completed a test production. He also noted that the Refinery has already put things in place to begin the sales of the petrol.
Reflecting on the contributions of the government, Aliko Dangote said: “I would like to commend the people of Nigeria and the government of President Bola Tinubu for providing us with the platform for growth, development, and prosperity. I also want to thank him personally for introducing the idea of exchanging crude for Naira. This initiative will contribute to the stability of the Naira”.
He also assured Nigerians that “With this refinery in operation, we will have a clear picture of Nigeria’s true consumption. We will be able to track every truck and shipload”.
The news comes with great joy to Nigerians who have felt the brunt of petrol scarcity in the country for many months now.
