Benin branch of The Nigeria Bar Association, on Wednesday defended two persons charged with violating the dusk to dawn curfew imposed by the Edo State Government to curtail the spread of coronavirus in the state.
The NBA Task Force, led by Mr Matthew Edaghese and Douglas Ogbankwa, the Public Relations Officer of the task force, made sudden appearance at Uroukpota mobile court, Benin, to defend five persons who were accused of violating the curfew imposed by Edo State Government.
The defendants, Success Peter, 32; Peace Doonior, 25; Tunde Mustapha, 35; Monday Ukpowa, 38, and one other person were accused of violating the curfew imposed by the state government.
Police prosecutor, Linda Samson, said three of the defendants were arrested while driving on the highway around 7.55pm.
She further said the other two of the defendants were arrested inside a brothel around 8pm.
All the accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against them.
