Federal University, Dutsin-ma has won a N32 million research grant from the National Research Foundation in Pretoria, South Africa.
National Research Foundation, which is an agency of the South African Government contributes to National Development by supporting, promoting and advancing research and human capacity development through funding and the provision of necessary research infrastructure in order to facilitate the creation of humanities, social sciences and indigenous knowledge.
A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of FUDMA Habibu Aminu, disclosed on Saturday that the fund from NRF is meant for “Transdisciplinary Research for Pathways to Sustainability, Collaborative Research Action.”
The PRO officer also disclosed that news of the N32 million research grant was communicated to the university’s Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol through the University’s Director of Research and Development, Muhammad Garba.
Garba promised that the fund would be effectively channeled to the intended purpose.
Reacting to the development, the Vice Chancellor of FUDMA, Professor Armaya’u Bichi promised that he will continue to ensure that the University win more grants that will help to promote the students and the staff performances.
Bichi also appreciated the University’s Directorate of Research and Development for doing a great job.
” …not only securing the grant but putting the name of the institution in a global perspective which is in line with its vision and mission,” Bichi said.
