The House of Representatives today led a delegation to Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State where they donated N100 million to the victims of the recent flood crisis in the state.
The delegation which was led by Alhassan Doguwa, the Chairman of the Northern Regional Caucus, Alhassan Doguwa, expressed their sympathy with the people and government of Borno and announced the donation made by the House of Representatives.
Speaking to reporters at the Government House in Maiduguri, Alhassan Doguwa thanked the federal government for their pledge of support to salvage the flood crisis in the State.
In his words, Doguwa said “We also pledge the National Assembly’s readiness to liaise with the Federal Government to develop a legislative framework or any possible budgetary intervention to assist state governments in addressing the impacts of flood disasters in the country.”
