Several young people on Thursday, are protesting what they called the incessant occurrence of terrorist attacks in the city of Katsina.
The youths marched through the Nacenta village near the Army barracks and Shola quarters in the state capital.
The youth bemoaned the fact that security organizations have been powerless in curbing the banditry’s excesses.
Deputy Speaker Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki made a plea to security authorities in response to the bandits’ relentless attacks in Katsina, calling on them to accept the challenge and go after the criminals where they are hiding out.
Taofoki condemned the bandit attacks and said that terrorists had taken over the entire State.
However, the Katsina House of Assembly is expected to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari and state governor Aminu Masari to discuss the issue of insecurity in the state.
During a news conference, Ali Al-Baba, the chair of the information committee of the Katsina House of Assembly, highlighted the assembly’s concern about the state’s deteriorating security.
Al-Baba stated that the Assembly is concerned about daily reports of terrorist acts occurring throughout the State.
He deemed the state’s existing level of insecurity intolerable and demanded quick action to control it.
