Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, was not present yesterday at the 62nd convention of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA.
Kashim Shettima, Tinubu’s running mate, attended the ceremony at the Eko Atlantic Hotel in Lagos State on his behalf.
Some Nigerians were incensed by his absence from the event that took place in his city and blamed him for it especially because the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi both attended and spoke at the event.
Adamu Garba, a past candidate for the APC presidency, responded to the criticism by saying that Tinubu sent his running partner to demonstrate inclusive leadership.
Garba claimed in a tweet that Tinubu had proven he wouldn’t lead with megalomania.
Garba claimed that Kashim has not been “buried” in any way by the APC presidential candidate.
Adamu Garba wrote, “Tinubu absent, Tinubu absent. You guys don’t understand the true meaning of inclusive leadership.
“Unlike others, Tinubu clearly shows that he’s not planning to be a megalomaniac leader who should bury his Vice just to be everywhere, he trusts @KashimSM to deliver. No vacuum at all.”
