William Ruto will today be inaugurated as Kenya’s fifth president and the event takes place at Kasarani Stadium in the country’s capital, Nairobi.
On his arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, VP Osinbajo was received by former Governor of Kwale County, Salim Mvurya, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Kenya, Yusuf Yumusa and other top government officials.
Amongst the entourage with the vice president are the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Zubairu Dada and the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Sen. Babafemi Ojudu.
It will be recalled that on August 15th, William Ruto was announced winner of Kenya’s presidential election that took place on August 9th by the Chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Wafula Chebukati.
Ruto emerged winner of the presidential race with almost 7.18 million votes or 50.49 per cent, against his opponent’s (Ralia Odinga) 6.94 million or 48.85 per cent.
