The first Batch of 1001 Kano Students Leave for India to pursue their postgraduate academics.
Out of the 1001 recipients, 150 from the first batch of the Kano State Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship left Nigeria for India yesterday.
State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf advised the beneficiaries at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano to focus on their education and make Nigeria and Kano proud.

According to him, the scholarship was given out in accordance with campaign pledges to continue awarding scholarships to the state’s top students in keeping with Kwankwasiyya doctrine.
“This singular effort by his administration has produced many professionals and Ph.D. holders, thousands of Masters, Degree holders, thousands of professionals in medical sciences, engineering, natural sciences, pilots, maritime specialists.”

In addition to the international scholarship program, the governor stated that the Kano State Government is dedicated to enhancing state-owned tertiary institutions by increasing financing and developing the facilities necessary for efficient teaching, learning, and research.
He pleaded with the scholarship recipients to make the most of this wonderful chance to succeed in their academic endeavors by staying dedicated and abiding by local customs, laws, and cultural traditions.
The party’s presidential candidate in the February election, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, commended the state government’s efforts earlier in his speech for sticking to their course.
He urged the recipients to make sure they fulfill their goals and contribute to their families, friends, and the nation as a whole.
