According to SunSport, Manchester United are on the verge of completing the £84m signing of Ajax winger, Anthony.
The Red Devils are believed to have met Ajax’s eye-watering asking price to sign the winger.
The Brazilian’s representatives are now reportedly staying in England until the end of the transfer window to push through a deal.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo was brutally axed in front of the whole Manchester United squad during a two-hour summit meeting.
And United are said to be ready to go back in for Sergino Dest of Barcelona, as they look for a right-back to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Dutch-American, who worked with Erik ten Hag at Ajax, is said to consider Old Trafford to be a dream move.
As well as new signings, the club will have one eye on the Europa League draw, which starts at 12pm on Friday. Martin Dubravka is also expected to finalise his switch to Manchester United this weekend.
Newcastle’s Slovakian stopper is keen to make the move to Old Trafford, having lost his first team place at St James’ Park to Nick Pope.
The 33-year-old will join United on an initial season-loan with the Red Devils holding the option to make the move permanent for £5m next summer.
Toon boss Eddie Howe confirmed that the talks had taken place, and added that he didn’t want to lose Dubravka, but the deal was ‘out of his hands’.
