Spain and Portugal national teams shared points in tonight’s Group A2 of the UEFA Nations League as Ricardo Horta opened his international scoring books, by equalizing the Álvaro Morata’s strike.
The 2022/23 Nations League which was played in Seville to savour tonight saw the two teams lock horns in what is known as the Iberian derby.
Goals by Portugal’s Alvaro Morata and Spain’s Ricardo Horta led to a 1-1 draw between Spain and Portugal in their Nations League opener at Estadio Benito Villamarin.
Morata put Spain strike came from close range following a fine pass that involved midfielders Gavi and Pablo Sarabia in the 25th minute.
However, Horta came on as a substitute to equalise for Portugal, just eight minutes from time.
Cristiano Ronaldo came off the bench for the visitors shortly after the hour mark but it was fellow substitute Goncalo Guedes who supplied the low cross for Horta to fire in the equaliser with eight minutes remaining.
