INEC has announced that it will be bringing the Youth Vote Count Mega concert to Abuja for those who missed the Lagos state version of it.
The electoral body made the announcement on Wednesday, via their social media platform on Twitter.
The concert is organized as part of the strategy INEC is using to encourage every Nigerian who is eligible to vote to get registered ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
According to INEC, the drill remains the same. Entrance is free, but you must present your permanent or temporary voters card before you can be allowed into the venue.
The event will hold at the Eagles Square Abuja from 9am.
The campaign has been heavy and has pulled in alot of celebrities and well meaning Nigerians who have willingly shown all their support to ensure that the registration and collection of PVCs is effective.
INEC Chairman Prof Yakubu, had earlier stated during the just concluded Youth Vote Count Mega concert in Lagos which was held at the Tafawa Balewa Square, that their votes will count come 2023 general elections as they urged everyone to secure their PVC.
The Abuja Youth Vote Count Mega concert is scheduled to run from June 20th to 25th, within the time frame INEC will conduct open air PVC registration with over 30 active registration points, and the main concert is scheduled to hold on June 25th.
The tweet says “Did You Miss the #YouthVoteCountNG Mega Concert in Lagos?Don’t Worry; it is happening LIVE in Abuja on 25th June 2022From 20th-25th June 2022INEC will conduct open air PVC registration.Over 30 service points will be available for the registration exercise.”
